Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This policy explains what information NERGtags collects when you use our plaque, QR code and file hosting service, and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password), when you created your account, when you accepted our terms, and whether your account has been given free access.
- Your plaques: the plaques you have claimed, the names and destination addresses you enter, and QR code images for them.
- Files you upload: the PDF files you host on a plaque, their titles and names, and their sizes.
- Scan statistics: for each plaque we count how many times it is scanned, per day, and the time of the most recent scan. We do not record the IP address, device or identity of the people who scan your plaques.
- Payment information: payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number. For each plaque we keep its plan, subscription status and free-trial dates, and we keep your Stripe customer ID.
- Abuse reports: if you report a plaque, we store the code, your reason and details, your IP address, and your email if you choose to give it.
- Technical data: your IP address is used briefly for security, such as limiting repeated login or claim attempts. Our web host may also keep standard server logs.
How we use it
We use this information to run your account and plaques, deliver your files, process payments, send account emails (such as email verification, password resets and reminders that your free trial is ending), prevent abuse and fraud, handle reports, and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms. It is necessary for the service to work.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Our hosting and email providers, who store data and deliver email on our behalf.
- Authorities, where we believe the law requires it or to protect people from harm, for example in response to a legal request or a serious abuse report.
Anyone can open your plaques and files
A plaque sends anyone who scans it to the address you entered or shows the files you uploaded. Do not upload private documents, and do not put private information in a destination address unless the page itself is protected.
How long we keep it
We keep account, plaque and file information while your account is open. Login-attempt records are deleted automatically after a short time. If you delete your account, we release your plaques and delete your files, except for information we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
Security
We use passwords hashed with a modern algorithm, encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access controls. Uploaded files are stored under random names. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your plaques and files in the dashboard, change your password, or delete your account on the Account page. You can ask to see or correct your personal information by emailing us at admin@nerg.com.
Children
The service is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. For significant changes we will notify you by email or in the dashboard.
