What is a NERGtags plaque?
A NERGtags plaque is a physical sign or tag with a premade QR code on it. When someone scans it with a phone camera, they are sent to a web page you choose, or shown PDF files you upload. Because the code points to our short link, you can change the destination whenever you like without reprinting anything.
Can I change where the QR code goes after I have mounted the plaque?
Yes. That is the whole point. The QR code printed on your plaque never changes, but the place it sends people is yours to edit at any time from your account. Swap a menu, fix a broken link, or point it at a new page in seconds.
How do I set up my plaque?
Every plaque comes with a private activation PIN. Scan the code or enter it on our claim page, create a free account, enter your PIN, and the plaque is yours. Then paste in the web address you want, or (on Deluxe) upload your PDFs.
Do people need an app to scan it?
No. Any modern phone camera reads the code. There is nothing to install and no account for the person scanning.
What is the difference between Basic and Deluxe?
Basic ($3 / month per plaque) sends scanners to any web address you choose. Deluxe ($8 / month per plaque) does everything Basic does and also hosts your PDF files for you, up to 10 files per plaque, 10 MB each and 50 MB total. Use Deluxe for menus, manuals, price lists and flyers when you do not have a website to link to.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plaque includes a free 60-day trial of the Basic plan, starting the day you claim it. No payment is needed to start. If you want PDF hosting you can upgrade that plaque to Deluxe.
How does billing work?
Billing is per plaque, so you only pay for the plaques you actually use. Each plaque has its own plan, and you can change or cancel a plan from your account at any time. Payments are handled securely by Stripe.
What happens if I cancel or stop paying?
The plaque pauses. Anyone who scans it sees a short notice that it is not currently active. The QR code itself stays the same, so if you renew from your account, the plaque starts working again.
Can I see how many people scan my plaque?
Yes. Your dashboard shows total scans and recent activity for each plaque, so you can see which signs are getting attention.
Can I download the QR code?
Yes. You can download any of your plaque QR codes as a PNG image at any time, handy for flyers, receipts, table tents and your own artwork.
Who can see the PDFs I upload?
Anyone who scans your plaque (or has its link) can open the files, so only upload documents you are happy to share publicly, like menus, manuals and brochures. Do not upload anything private.
Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
We currently ship within the United States from Troy, Ohio. Shipping is $7.00, and free on orders over $75.00. Your shipping confirmation email includes tracking.
